Filming our ident.
We decided we would film our ident in the common room as that was where the freezer was located, because we were focusing the ident around ice cubes we didn't really need a set, we had difficulties filming with the ice as it took longer than expected to freeze so we were slightly off track. For various reasons we were unable to get footage of people at a club so we had to create our own interpretation. We decided this would be most easily done with filming our class close together with the lights turning on and off we found this footage was adequate for our ident. We had some difficulty with filming but we managed to overcome this by using initiative and making do with the resources we had.
Uploading our work.
We had to upload all of our footage into the new verision of IMovie maker, then transfer it to the older version so we were able to edit it. Now that is finished we can begin to edit our work.
Editing the ident.
Once we had filmed everything we needed we uploaded our footage into I-Movie ID, we then began to sort our clips into the correct order. During this process we cam across some obstacles in completing our ident as we didn't have the ideal footage we had hoped for so we had to improvise, so because what we had originally planed to do hadn't worked we took screen shots of the ice cubes (like the picture) and added them into the film instead. Once we had a structure to our ident we had to cut the clips to get rid of what wasn't necessary, then worked on the transactions from clip to clip adding in the ones we thought were best for our ident. As a group we discussed what effects we wanted to add in we tried out the various effects to see what looked best and once we had decided this we add the selected effects to our ident. One of the effects we used was 'N square' to split the screen into four sections, we decided to use this effect because of difficulties in our group we weren't able to get footage from a club so we had to improvise and film in the classroom and i suggested if we were to use 'N square' the fact that it was filmed in a classroom would be less visible. After we had edited the footage we selected the music we wanted and using the timeline synced the music with the parts of the ident we wanted it to play during.
Exporting our final ident.
Once we had finished editing our ident it was ready to be exported, this meant we could add our on screen graphics to our film in Final Cut. The steps we followed to export our work were as follows: we first saved it as expert settings, we the uploaded it to youtube and from this we were able to upload it to our blog.
ident three (kitchen) props & set.

This picture shows the 6th form common room in Glenthorne High school in which would film this ident as there is a kitchen which is exactly what we need for filming this ident. The other picture is of the ice cube trays we will use to create our props.
Ident three (kitchen) on screen graphics.
The graphics for ident three were also part of what my fellow student agreed to work on. If I was to edit these graphics I would target the graphics to the specific ident it was to follow. The graphics i think would best fit this ident would be if we were to place the letters 'THE GRID' made from ice cubes into a frying pan and record them melting, then to whilst editing the graphics I would speed up the footage. So I would be replacing actual graphics with footage.

Ident one (party) on screen graphics.

This is the on screen graphics we created for the party ident, I created the graphics by using Livetype which opened up a lot of opportunities for me with the variety of fonts I was able to use. What I was originally planning to do would have been to create the graphics by spelling 'THE GRID' out of ice cubes, I would have been limited to just using ice cubes which would have been a lot more difficult for me to do rather than using Livetype.
This is an example of an ice cube we froze for the ident as you can see it presents a problem by the amount of time it takes to freeze and also how quickly it unfreezes is an issue when we were trying to assemble the ice cubes ready to film.
In my final ident the words bounce in
and then slide down the screen, I thought that the graphics sliding down the screen linked in with the idea of melting ice cubes. I also decided that making the graphics blue and in a melted font would link in with the idea of ice cubes.
ident three (kitchen) sound/ music.
This ident will only use one piece of music which we will most likely download from www.freeplaymusic.com we will selected a song thats quite light, relaxed, chilled and universal to all. The music will just play on a low level throughout the ident helping to set the scene. The other sound used will be a continuity announcer toward the end of the ident.
Ident two (pacman) sound/ music.
For the start of the ident we decided to use pacman sound effects as pacman is the main focus of the ident, then at shot 7 this will change and a 'wild wild west' theme tune and will be played whilst the brain and pacman begin to have there stand off. At shot 9 the sound then changes back to the pacman noises to symbolise pacman making the first move. Last but not least at shot 10 the Darth Vader section of the Star Was theme tune will play during a close up of the pacman. Also a continuity announcer will be used.

Ident one (party) sound/ music
For our ident we selected two pieces of contrasting music from www.freeplaymusic.com. We choose one quite up-beat 'party' song to fit the with the lively clips of people dancing. We then choose a slower 'relaxed' song for the shots of the ice cubes, as these are more chilled clips. Then toward the end of the ident a continuity announcer will be used.
